Now this is what we call true Minnesotan grit.
People wonder how we survive the harsh tundra-like winds of winters and the sticky, suffocating humidity of summers. I'll tell you why. Because we grow kids like this. Hardy, fearless and utterly determined to get to the county fair at 2.5 mph.
I mean, I feel you, Kenneth. I'm a little impatient too. Why painstakingly wait for grandpa to take you to the fair, which is a tantalizing 2 blocks away, when you can totes make it by yourself on your very own set of wheels?
Sure your tractor license is temporarily suspended and you won't be able to cruise past the yard until you earn you mom's full trust again, which will probably be somewhere around 18 years from now. (And, by the way, that's totally because your little joy ride made the fear of god course through that poor woman's veins I can't even.) BUT I'm guessing if we asked you if it was all worth it, you'd give us a big, fat, sticky YES!
Thanks to you, young Kenneth, I now only have one goal in life: to feel just 1/3 of the exhilaration and freedom you must have experienced as you rolled away from your house, down the road and right into the the fair parking lot, light wind in your hair, summer on your skin and the promise of cotton candy and carnival rides on the horizon. That's what it's all about right there.
Keep on rollin', little dude. Just do us all a solid and tell your mom you're leaving first, kay? Future Minnesota needs you!
